Each practitioner following the teachings of the so-called Lichtenauer lineage should understand that there are three primary ways to wound an opponent.

  • The first is the cut, which is most naturally associated with the powerful longsword or two-handed sword.
  • The second is the slice, a technique characteristic of all edged weapons.
  • Finally, there is the thrust, which possesses unique qualities that make it an effective method for attacking and closing distance with an opponent.

In this practical workshop, we will explore a longpoint-centric approach to Lichtenauer’s teachings and to working with the „three wounders“, we will work on refining mechanics and reprogramming our overall approach to combat through many progressive exercises and assaults.
